Open Studios: Clare Wohlnick

Step inside Clare Wohlnick’s WFAC studio and see the large-scale felt works she has been developing during her residency.

Working with wool, colour and natural dyes, Clare creates richly textured pieces inspired by landscapes, reflections and small moments of visual beauty. Her process is both delicate and physical, involving layering, wetting, rolling, pressing and even bashing wool fibres together by hand.

This Open Studio is a chance to meet Clare, see works in progress and get a closer look at the materials, experiments and processes behind her practice.

The work developed during Clare’s WFAC residency will later be shown at Fremantle Small Projects at the end of 2026.
