Free Drop In Workshop: Bedazzle with Chantal Fraser

Thanks to the generous support of Community Bank Fremantle, we’re excited to invite families to a free drop-in bedazzling workshop with In Our Hands exhibiting artist Chantal Fraser.

Born in Aotearoa New Zealand and based in Meanjin (Brisbane), Chantal is a Sāmoan artist whose practice explores identity, adornment and protection. Inspired by objects like safety glasses, masks and shields, Chantal reimagines these symbols of protection, transforming them into bold and vibrant works of art using gems, beads and sparkling embellishments.

Take a wonder through the exhibition, get inspired, then join Chantal to create your own bedazzled pair of glasses!

How it works

This is a free, drop-in session, with no bookings required. We can host up to around 15 -20 participants at a time, with people joining and leaving throughout the session as space allows. Children under the 18 years of age, must attend with an adult. We’ll have 100 pairs of safety glasses available for the session, so get in quick so as not to miss out!

If it’s busy, there may be a short wait for a spot: perfect time to explore the exhibition, grab a coffee and gather some inspiration.

Just arrive, jump in when there’s space, and get bedazzling.
