Wayan Upadana | Memory

Having previously exhibited and been in residence at FAC, Indonesian artist Wayan Upadana returns with a new series of works based on the experience of being a tourist in WA as a counterpoint to FAC’s 2014 exhibition BALI: return economy. The drawings, watercolours, video and sculpture works reveal Upadana’s critical eye and are imbued with his intelligent wit.

FAC and Wayan Upadana would like to thank and acknowledge the support of Mary Hill in the development of this project, which has followed on from the work of the late Chris Hill, co-curator of BALI: return economy, and his research into Balinese art and the subsequent inclusion of Wayan Upadana in that exhibition.
