New workshop alert! In this hands-on workshop, explore screen printing by creating bold mirrored designs using animal or insect imagery. Cut your own stencil from mineral paper, experiment with symmetry and contrast. Print your final design onto a T-shirt or tote bag and take home a wearable piece of art.

A selection of animal designs suited for the workshop will be provided.

Bring your own light-coloured T-shirt or tote bag made from natural fibres such as cotton or linen.

What to bring:

  • A water bottle and snack or lunchbox for longer classes
  • A sunhat for any outdoor breaks

What to wear:

  • Closed toed shoes
  • Clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

Drop off and Pick Up:

  • All parents/guardians need to drop off and pick up their child from the studio
  • No students will be permitted to leave without written confirmation by a parent/guardian.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.

Meet your tutor

Odile Bell

Odile is a Fremantle-based artist, screen printer, and creative educator inspired by the beauty of the natural environment. Since 2018, she has run a bespoke screen-printing practice creating nature-inspired handmade and wearable pieces designed to bring beauty into everyday life.
Alongside screen printing, Odile creates playful cyanotype works influenced by her interest in art therapy. She also teaches screen printing and cyanotype workshops and loves sharing the creative process with others, especially witnessing the magic and confidence that emerges when students surprise themselves with what they can create.
