Brand New Workshop at WFAC! Meet our new tutor, artist Odile Bell. Get ready to experiment, create and bring your wildest creature ideas to life in this exciting new cyanotype workshop. Using drawing, plant materials, found objects and the magic of UV light printing, you’ll design and make a collection of 4 one-of-a-kind greeting cards bursting with rich blue colour, texture and personality.

Start by sketching your own imagined animal characters onto transparencies, then watch them transform through the fascinating cyanotype process into striking handmade artworks. Along the way, you’ll explore layering, botanical printing and creative mark-making while developing your own visual storytelling style.

Perfect for curious and creative young artists.

What to bring:

  • A water bottle and snack or lunchbox for longer classes
  • A sunhat for any outdoor breaks
  • All materials included.

What to wear:

  • Closed toed shoes
  • Clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

Drop of and Pick Up:

  • All parents/guardians need to drop off and pick up their child from the studio
  • No students will be permitted to leave without written confirmation by a parent/guardian.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.

Meet your tutor

Odile Bell

Odile is a Fremantle-based artist, screen printer, and creative educator inspired by the beauty of the natural environment. Since 2018, she has run a bespoke screen-printing practice creating nature-inspired handmade and wearable pieces designed to bring beauty into everyday life.
Alongside screen printing, Odile creates playful cyanotype works influenced by her interest in art therapy. She also teaches screen printing and cyanotype workshops and loves sharing the creative process with others, especially witnessing the magic and confidence that emerges when students surprise themselves with what they can create.
