Brand New Workshop at WFAC! Meet our new tutor, artist Odile Bell. Discover the magic of cyanotype, one of the oldest photographic printing techniques using sunlight/ UV lamps, to create striking, blue-toned images.

Learn how to prepare photosensitive paper and create a collection of unique handmade greeting cards using the magic of cyanotype! You will learn how to coat the paper with cyanotype emulsion then experiment with shapes, negatives, plant material, and found objects to create bold blueprints full of personality.

A fun and imaginative workshop combining art, UV light, and creative storytelling through paper.

What to bring:

  • A water bottle and snack or lunchbox for longer classes
  • A sunhat for any outdoor breaks
  • All materials included.

What to wear:

  • Closed toed shoes
  • Clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

Drop off and Pick Up:

  • All parents/guardians need to drop off and pick up their child from the studio
  • No students will be permitted to leave without written confirmation by a parent/guardian.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.

Meet your tutor

Odile Bell

Odile is a Fremantle-based artist, screen printer, and creative educator inspired by the beauty of the natural environment. Since 2018, she has run a bespoke screen-printing practice creating nature-inspired handmade and wearable pieces designed to bring beauty into everyday life.
Alongside screen printing, Odile creates playful cyanotype works influenced by her interest in art therapy. She also teaches screen printing and cyanotype workshops and loves sharing the creative process with others, especially witnessing the magic and confidence that emerges when students surprise themselves with what they can create.
