About the class

Join contemporary jeweller Sophie Quinn for an open studio style jewellery class designed to support makers at all levels, from complete beginners through to more experienced practitioners.

This flexible, workshop-based course invites you to develop your own ideas and projects in a supportive studio environment. Whether you are just starting out or looking to refine your practice, Sophie will guide you through a range of contemporary jewellery techniques, offering one-on-one support tailored to your skill level and interests.

You might explore processes such as forming, texturing, fabrication, and finishing, while building confidence working with metal and other materials. Beginners can learn fundamental skills at their own pace, while more advanced students are encouraged to deepen their practice and experiment with new approaches.

Bring your ideas, sketches, or works in progress, or arrive ready to experiment and see where the process takes you. This is a space to explore, problem-solve, and develop your own creative voice within contemporary jewellery.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.

We acknowledge these limitations and are committed to improving accessibility where possible. We continue to explore ways to make our programs more inclusive and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.

Should you, or the person you are enrolling for, have any other additional requirements, please include these details when booking. Should you wish to chat to one of our friendly team, feel free to contact Reception on 9432 9555 or email ArtsCentre@fremantle.wa.gov.au to discuss any individual needs.
