About the class

Discover the ancient art of lost wax casting and develop your jewellery-making skills over this multi-week course with tutor Sophie Quinn.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn how to carve and shape wax to create your own designs, experimenting with form, texture, and scale. Your wax models will then be cast using the investment casting process, giving you insight into how your ideas move from wax to metal.

As your pieces return from casting, you’ll be guided through refining and finishing techniques to bring your designs to life. You’ll have the option to work with new or recycled metal, creating unique, personal jewellery.

Perfect for beginners and those looking to expand their skills, this course offers a supportive environment to learn, experiment, and build confidence across the full casting process.

  • Apron
  • Design ideas or inspiration for your pieces

We acknowledge these limitations and are committed to improving accessibility where possible. We continue to explore ways to make our programs more inclusive and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.

Should you, or the person you are enrolling for, have any other additional requirements, please include these details when booking. Should you wish to chat to one of our friendly team, feel free to contact Reception on 9432 9555 or email ArtsCentre@fremantle.wa.gov.au to discuss any individual needs.
