Start your morning with a little foraging adventure around the Art Centre gardens with tutor Odile Bell, collecting a variety of leaves, flowers and botanical treasures to use in your artwork. In this fun, hands-on workshop, you’ll discover cyanotype, an early photographic printing process that uses sunlight or UV light to create striking blue-and-white images.
Using animal silhouettes and the botanical materials you’ve collected, you’ll experiment with arranging plants, tracing designs and coating your artwork with cyanotype solution before exposing it to the sun and watching your prints magically appear.
You’ll create your own unique A4 animal posters, filled with beautiful botanical patterns and rich cyan-blue tones. Your finished artwork will be ready to frame or make a special handmade gift. Perfect for curious, creative young artists who love making, experimenting and getting outdoors.
What to bring:
- A water bottle and snack or lunchbox for longer classes
- A sunhat for any outdoor breaks
- All materials included.
What to wear:
- Closed toed shoes
- Clothes you don’t mind getting messy.
Drop off and Pick Up:
- All parents/guardians need to drop off and pick up their child from the studio
- No students will be permitted to leave without written confirmation by a parent/guardian.
