Presented by Music in Exile – a not-for-profit record label representing artists from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds – Ausecuma Beats are a nine-piece band comprised of members from Senegal, Mali, Cuba and Guinea.
Led by their fearless bandleader and master djembe player, Boubacar Gaye, the ensemble demonstrate what can happen when a group of artists come together based on an idea – in this case, the idea of place, of transplanting cultural heritage into a contemporary city. Fusing their diverse influences, Ausecuma Beats create complex rhythms which inspire your body to move, offering something incredibly danceable yet unmistakably unique.
Sunday Music is FAC’s free weekly live music program. Enjoy a carefully curated line-up of WA’s best musicians every weekend in the beautiful setting of FAC’s Front Garden. Bring a rug and picnic to this family friendly event, or enjoy wood fired pizzas and drinks from our bar. Some chairs provided.
