LANI B2B ONIIKE

ONIIKÉ is a Blak femme multigenre artist who describes her sound as afro-futuristic, sovereign and LOUD. She stays hooked on capturing the dancefloor by bringing something a lil different to every set she plays. She is known to cook up what her audience seeks: connection, queer joy and liberation. Across Boorloo, she has supported local, national and international artists including Erika De Casier (Soul Alphabet) and Sampa the Great (Perth Festival).

LANI is a Tāmaki born Boorloo raised artist whose beginnings as a DJ can be traced back to Soul Alphabet’s impactful ‘Take Up Space’ workshops in 2020. Her Pasifika roots and musical influences have lent to her appreciation for Afro-Carribean sounds and the wide variety of electronic genres that stem from them. Above all, making songs dance together so that we all can dance together is her biggest joy, no matter the genre. LANI has shared lineups with the likes of Lady Shaka, JessB, Half Queen, JAEL, and a range of local legends.

QUEENCY

Queency is a force of nature, a Réunionnais singer, songwriter and performer with a volcanic voice and absolutely no interest in staying in his lane.

Born on Réunion Island and shaped by its collisions of French, African and Asian heritage, he spent seventeen years building a career in Western Australia. Perth came to know the voice and the swagger from the stages he set alight, the two WAM nominations for Best R&B Act of the Year and a WAM Song of the Year nomination, to the run on The Voice Australia that landed him on Adam Lambert’s team.

Then he went home.

The upcoming EP he returns with is a different animal. The funky pop polish is gone, replaced by the music that raised him: Zouk, Konpa, Shatta, Afrobeats and Bouyon, sung in French, Créole and English, often inside a single song. The multilingualism isn’t a gimmick. Créole is where he comes from, French is what he was raised in, English is what he built a life in.

Live, he is what he has always been: a performer who commands a room and gives it everything. Qu’à toi, the first single from the forthcoming EP, marks the beginning of this new chapter.
