Open Studio: Meitheal

Step into the studio of Meitheal (pronounced meh-hull), a collective of Danielle Joynt (Musician), Lia McKnight (Visual Artist) and Marnie Richardson (Visual Artist/Photographer). Named after the old Irish tradition of cooperative community labour, Meitheal explores love, loss, ritual and healing through the lens of women’s knowledge systems.

Discover works in progress from their residency, including large-scale textiles, photography and soundscape shaped by plants, song, stitch and the ties of friendship. Rooted in acts of tending – to the dead, to one another, and to the living world – the residency asks how forgotten or overlooked practices of care might help us navigate grief, renewal and belonging, offering pathways for healing and connection in contemporary life.

Sound Meditation with Danielle Joynt
3pm – 3.45pm
Musician Danielle Joynt will lead a sound meditation drawing on the themes of the residency: grief, ritual, and restoration. A moment to slow down and sit with the work in a different way. All welcome; no experience necessary.

Drop in any time across the afternoon, stay for a while, or come especially for the meditation.
