Nathalie Daoust | Frozen in Time

Canadian artist Nathalie Daoust presents a series of delicately handcoloured photographs from the picturesque Alps. Frozen in Time is a record of the artist’s response to the landscape during a six month residency in Switzerland.

Offset by the perfect whitewashed landscape, luminescent figures appear in awkward and unexpected places, creating a landscape that drifts between dream and reality.

Daoust has shown her work in exhibitions and photography festivals around the world, from Chile to Finland, and has participated in a number of prominent artist residency programs. Her project Frozen in Time was supported by Conseil des arts et des letters du Québec.

Nathalie Daoust's "Fishing" features three women in white dresses by a lake with mountains.
