From June 5 to June 21, 2026, the historic Moores Gallery on Henry Street will be transformed into a vibrant exploration of coastal identity with the opening of ‘Moored’. This premier exhibition features a collective of 11 multidisciplinary artists, each responding to their unique “ways of seeing” their home port of Fremantle.
The exhibition boasts a significant collaboration with special guest and legendary local artist Tony Jones whose iconic sculptures have long defined the Fremantle landscape. The exhibition will be officially opened on Friday, June 5th by 2025 Fremantle Citizen of the Year and arts advocate, Ros De Souza.
“The title reflects the deep, unshakable ties our artists have to this city,” says the collective. “Through photography, sculpture, fabric, drawing and paint, we are inviting the community to reflect on their own relationship with Fremantle in a space that has been part of its history for generations.”
‘Moored’ is designed as an interactive community hub where artist talks and tours for the public to engage with the artistic process are included. Join us in celebrating the creative depth and enduring spirit of Fremantle.
