Moores Building Art Space | GENESIS

Genesis is the origin, the beginning, the start of creation.

This exhibition celebrates the past two years of the HotHouse Visual Artist-in-Residency program, enabling collaboration between artists and emerging young practitioners. Working alongside industry professionals, All Saints’ College Visual Arts students have experienced the realities of creative practice through experimentation, dialogue and discovery, developing confidence and their own artistic identities.

On display at the Moores Building Art Space in Fremantle (from 14 to 27 September), this free exhibition presents the work of contemporary Western Australian artists alongside selected student works created during the artists’ residencies at All Saints’ College. Exhibited side by side, these artworks celebrate the exchange of ideas, skills and perspectives that define creative mentorship.

We have been inspired by and are deeply grateful to the following artists for sharing with us their practice – Jacinda Bayne, Siân Boucherd, Lucinda Crimson, Darryl Dempster, Sharyn Egan, Louise Elscot, Susan Flavell, Minaxi May, Matthew McVeigh, Jaelle Pedroli, Mariaan Pugh, Anna Louise Richardson and Tyrown Waigana.

Genesis is the beginning of the next generation of visual artists.
