Harry Hummerston | Screenprints

This exhibition presents a survey of the screenprints by senior Fremantle artist Harry Hummerston. The selection of 33 prints showcases the breadth and sophistication of Hummerston’s practice and the versatility, diversity and graphic power of the screenprint technique.

Hummerston was a leading exponent and teacher of screenprint in WA for 25 years, is a regular exhibitor at FAC and has been a finalist in the Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award. He has exhibited extensively nationally and is represented in all major state and national collections. This survey exhibition is made possible by the artist’s generous donation of his catalogue raisonné of screenprints to the City of Fremantle Art Collection in 2018.

The City of Fremantle Art Collection, established in 1958, is the largest municipal collection in WA with over 1,500 works. The Collection’s focus on Fremantle artists and Australian prints celebrates the enduring importance of the visual arts to Fremantle.
