Working under the name Freakmo, local artist Kiana Jones (WA) runs one of Australia’s most popular special effects makeup YouTube channels. Her work is world renowned and she is now being sought by feature filmmakers. In this, her first solo show, Jones will present a series of large-scale fantasy photos and video portraits, developed through hours of labour intensive make up sessions. Jones’ techniques jolt the senses in their realistic interpretation of flesh and wounds.
