Cath Inman is a fibre artist working with locally foraged and found plant materials to create sustainable sculptural and functional art. With a lifelong love of nature and plants rooted in childhood and deepened through the study of horticulture over 25 years ago, Cath brings an intimate knowledge of the plant world into her creative practice.

Her work in basketry and weaving emerged organically from her own garden with an urge to recover and repurpose green waste. Drawn to the sculptural and textural potential of plant materials, she began exploring how these natural elements could be transformed into meaningful art. Cath is guided by an inherent sensitivity to detail, often noticing the subtle beauty in the overlooked. She is a constant collector of natural treasures and detritus, integrating them into her works in innovative and decorative ways.

As her practice evolved, so did her awareness of a collective longing - among friends, community members, and workshop participants for a deeper connection, creativity, and environmental mindfulness. This recognition inspired her to begin facilitating regular workshops, where she teaches plant foraging, weaving, and basketry techniques.

Cath creates inclusive, grounding spaces where participants can reconnect with themselves, each other, and the local landscape. Sharing ancient weaving and basketry skills she is most inspired by bringing people together and nurturing creativity in ways that tread lightly on the earth.
