About the class
Explore the craft of free-form weaving with rattan in this one-day workshop with artist Fiona Gavino. Through hands-on making, you’ll learn simple weaving techniques while experimenting with shaping and weaving rattan into organic forms.
Working with natural materials provided on the day, you’ll create a unique sculptural or functional piece and gain skills you can continue to explore at home. Suitable for beginners and those curious about working with natural fibres.
Students must wear appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes and tie up long hair
What to bring
- Sharp scissors/secateurs/wire cutters or round nose pliers

We acknowledge these limitations and are committed to improving accessibility where possible. We continue to explore ways to make our programs more inclusive and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.
Should you, or the person you are enrolling for, have any other additional requirements, please include these details when booking. Should you wish to chat to one of our friendly team, feel free to contact Reception on 9432 9555 or email ArtsCentre@fremantle.wa.gov.au to discuss any individual needs.
