Dragons + Unicorns in Clay

Unleash your inner mythical creature maker! Join Mel Ellero for a fun, hands-on ceramics workshop where you’ll learn simple hand-building techniques to create your very own miniature dragons and unicorns.

Whether your dragon is fierce, friendly, or a little bit cheeky, or your unicorn is sweet, sparkly, and completely magical, you’ll have the freedom to bring your imagination to life. Once your creations are shaped, you can give them plenty of personality with a selection of mythical colours and finishes, perfect for adding a little magic to your home or garden.

All ceramic pieces will be glazed and fired at WFAC, ready for you to collect once they’ve been transformed in the kiln.

What to bring:

  • A water bottle and snack or lunchbox for longer classes
  • A sunhat for any outdoor breaks
  • All materials included.

What to wear:

  • Closed toed shoes
  • Clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

Drop off and Pick Up:

  • All parents/guardians need to drop off and pick up their child from the studio
  • No students will be permitted to leave without written confirmation by a parent/guardian.

Ceramics Collection:

  • Please note ceramics works that need to be fired may take up to 4 weeks. We will notify you via email when your pieces are ready to collect.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.

We acknowledge these limitations and are committed to improving accessibility where possible. We continue to explore ways to make our programs more inclusive and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.
