Kruger James (WA) is a veteran. His resume reads as a how-to in beatmaking, rapping, singing, instrumental virtuosity, live band arrangement and freestyling performance. He is unique in not only his range of disciplines, but also in the way that he brings these disparate forms together: there are no samples in Kruger James’ beatmaking. Everything is played. From violin to guitar, percussion to piano, trumpet to analogue synths, all are seamlessly combined into a style that draws from modern rap music while still being entirely new.
