Movies Making a Difference in Fremantle

Fremantle Rotary and Bendigo Bank Fremantle Community Branch present a special screening of the film Wonder. Profits made from ticket sales will be donated to the Katina Woodruff Children’s Foundation. The Foundation is a non-profit organisation that exists to repair young lives and help with unique challenges of child immigration. Katina Woodruff-Roberts, the founder, brings personal experience and passion to supporting children experiencing traumatic transitions. Her driving force is her fervent love for children and her appreciation of cultural diversity.

Based on the New York Times bestseller, Wonder tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

The movie will be screened under the stars in the lovely surrounds of FAC’s Inner Courtyard. Chairs provided.

There will be woodfired pizza and drinks available to purchase on the night, or bring a picnic.
