IOTA24: Indian Ocean Craft Triennial

IOTA24: Indian Ocean Craft Triennial

Three years after its celebrated launch, the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial returns to Fremantle Arts Centre’s (FAC) historic heritage galleries with IOTA24: Codes in Parallel, curated by Carola Akindele-Obe & Jude Van Der Merwe.

IOTA24 showcases the work of international craft artists and groups from six Indian Ocean countries – India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, South Africa, and includes First nations Australians and Australians of diverse heritages.

At the heart of this multi-venue triennial, the exhibition at Fremantle Arts Centre will offer visitors a dazzling look into the innovative role of craft in the technological era. Through exhibitions, events, talks, and interactive opportunities, attendees will witness firsthand how craft contributes to community cohesion, environmental sustainability, and socio-economic progress.Artists
