Fremantle Press Book Launch – Rivers Flow

Join Fremantle Press to celebrate the launch of Rivers Flow: Reflections on the Songs of Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter — a moving tribute to two of Australia’s most beloved artists.
Enjoy readings from contributing authors including Cheryl Kickett-Tucker, Isobel Bevis, Luisa Mitchell, Cindy Solonec and Ambelin Kwaymullina, with live music interludes throughout the evening.

Curated and introduced by Kim Scott, two-time Miles Franklin Award winner and proud Noongar man, Rivers Flow brings together 23 First Nations writers sharing stories, reflections and poems inspired by the legacy of Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter.

The book will be launched by collection editor Casey Mulder.

Painting Studio | $25 per child | Two sessions: 10am–11am & 1pm–2pm

Kids aged 5–12 can join artist Jo Bowman for a fun, festive still life drawing session. Each child will create their own artwork — perfect for framing or gifting this holiday season.

While the kids are busy, parents can explore Bazaar Makers Market, featuring handmade gifts, jewellery, homewares, toys and more from WA makers.

Objet d’Art – Theo Koning and His Creative Self | Curator’s Tour

Join City of Fremantle Collections Curator Andre Lipscombe for a guided tour of Objet d’Art — a major retrospective celebrating Fremantle-based WA artist Theo Koning (1950–2022).

This exhibition spans Koning’s entire career, featuring assemblages, sculptures, paintings, drawings, collage, print editions, and artist books.
Tour begins at Reception.
