About this Summer Special
Designed for students who already know the basics of wheel throwing, this intensive weekend offers a focused studio environment to further develop your skills under the guidance of expert ceramicist Greg Crowe. Over Saturday and Sunday, you’ll have the opportunity to refine your technique, improve consistency, and experiment with new forms, with Greg providing tailored support and demonstrations to suit your practice.
All finished work will be fired in Fremantle Arts Centre’s kilns, giving you the satisfaction of taking home your own completed pieces.

Firing and Glazing
Once your work has been fired, it will be placed on the collection shelves and you’ll receive an email with collection times. Please make sure to identify and collect your own work.
If you’d like more time to finish your pieces, we offer stand-alone glazing classes each term time—these are a great option for returning to complete your work if you’d like to.
Summer Specials at Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre
This Birak season, our Summer Specials invite you to slow down, get creative and connect with your community at Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre. They’re perfect for trying something new, exploring your creativity and making art in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Whether you’re a regular or visiting for the first time, it’s the perfect opportunity to discover something new and be part of our creative community.
Building Accessibility
Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
We acknowledge these limitations and are committed to improving accessibility where possible. We continue to explore ways to make our programs more inclusive and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.
