Watercolours for Beginners

About the class

This one-day course is the perfect introduction to the world of watercolour painting.

You’ll learn about the properties of paper, colour mixing techniques, and various methods for applying watercolour to create beautiful, bespoke artworks.

Through easy-to-follow exercises, you’ll build confidence in using this versatile medium and explore how to bring your creative ideas to life on paper. Ideal for beginners looking to get started with watercolour in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Students Required to bring:

• Watercolour paints (e.g., Koh-I-Noor Watercolour Palette disc)
• Watercolour pencils
• Selection paint brushes, e.g., small, medium, large round tip
• Watercolour paper, smooth or hot pressed
• Water jar
• 2B pencil
• Eraser
• Bleed-proof black fine liner

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
