Silver Jewellery Foundations (Friday)

About the class

Step into the world of metal jewellery making in this hands-on beginner-friendly course with experienced jeweller Alida Cappelletta. Across 8 weeks, you’ll be introduced to essential techniques such as soldering, sawing, filing, shaping, polishing, and more.

Start by creating your own interlocking silver ring, then move on to designing and making a custom piece, like a pair of earrings, a pendant, or a keyring, using decorative saw-piercing methods. If you already have some experience or a project in mind, Alida will support you in developing your own design at your own pace.

No prior experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity!

What to bring

• Notebook & pen
• Apron
• Any jewellery making tools (if you have them)
• Should you need, Bezel Ring Kits are available to purchase for $20 through reception at the Fremantle Arts Centre. These will be available throughout the term.
• After the first class, Alida can suggest additional materials and metals that you may need for custom projects.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
