Landscape Painting in a Day

About this Summer Special

Spend a day immersed in creating your own landscape painting with artist and tutor Joss Gregson. Working in acrylics you will be guided step by step through the process of turning your favourite landscape image into a finished painting to take home.

Bring along a photo or printout of a landscape that inspires you, perhaps a favourite place, view or memory. You will learn techniques for composing, blocking in shapes, mixing colour and applying paint expressively.

By the end of the day you will have a completed landscape painting ready to hang along with new confidence and skills to continue painting on your own. Some basic painting experience is helpful but beginners are welcome.

What to bring

• A photo or printout of your favourite landscape

• Acrylic paints

• A canvas (size recommended: 40 × 40 cm or similar)

• Brushes or the Westart brown pack of nylon brushes

• Palette, water container and rags

Acrylic paints will be provided, but if you have your own paints and materials, we recommend you bring that along.

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
