Afterschool Art Classes: Hand painted textiles

Want to turn your clothes or fabric into art? In this fun beginner’s workshop, you’ll learn easy ways to paint directly onto fabric using fabric paints, acrylic paints, posca pens, fabric markers and other mix mediums.  Experiment with freehand painting, spray effects, outline techniques and even natural materials to create cool textures and patterns on different cotton fabric cloth. Bring along a white T-shirt or canvas sneakers if you’d like to turn them into something totally your own. No experience needed, just bring your creativity.

What to bring:

• A water bottle and snack or lunchbox for longer classes
• A sunhat for any outdoor breaks
• All materials included
• A white T-shirt or canvas sneaker.

What to wear:

• Closed toed shoes
• Clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

Drop of and Pick Up:

• All parents/guardians need to drop off and pick up their child from the studio
• No students will be permitted to leave without written confirmation by a parent/guardian.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
