You’re Invited: 2025 Print Award Opening Night

A record-breaking year.  A night to celebrate.

Join us on Friday 15 August at Fremantle Arts Centre for the Opening Night of the 47th Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award – an award and exhibition which boasts a national judging panel and $30,000 in prize money for artists.

This year’s exhibition is our largest yet, showcasing 68 finalists selected from a pool of outstanding entries nationwide. Together, they form an expansive snapshot of contemporary printmaking in Australia – from traditional techniques to experimental forms – selected by an illustrious judging panel, including Co-Director at the Berndt Museum at UWA, Jessyca Hutchens, Director/ CEO Hannah Mathews (PICA) & artist, printer and publisher Trent Walter, who established Negative Press  (Naarm, Melbourne).

We’re proud to feature more First Nations entrants in 2025 than ever before, with the First Nations Print Prize returning for its second year, and the introduction of a new category, the Young Emerging Print Prize, to support the next generation of artists. Thank you to Wesfarmers Arts and Fremantle Community bank respectively for their support.

Winners of all three prizes – including the updated $20,000 acquisitive Print Award, supported by the City of Fremantle – will be announced on the night.

We’d love for you to join us for this celebration of innovation and creative excellence in print.
