PLEASE NOTE: This event will take place at Moores Building Art Space | 46 Henry Street, Fremantle.
Join artist and organiser Kate O’Shea for a hands-on printmaking and collage workshop exploring the unseen traces of creative practice.
Inspired by Kate’s work ‘But we are our own archives’ on show in the 47th Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award, participants are invited to work with overlooked and unfinished fragments from their own making processes to create something unexpected in this artist-led workshop held within the historic walls of the Moores Building Art Space.
Bring leftover prints, sketches, notes, or creative scraps. As artists and makers, we often accumulate traces of our process—scraps, test prints, handwritten notes, photocopies, photos… These are not waste; they are the living archive of how and why we make. We’ll use printmaking, collage, and layering techniques to transform these remnants into new works that speak to personal narratives of memory and transformation.
No printmaking experience necessary. Open to all artists, printmakers, community workers, and anyone with a drawer full of creative fragments. All materials provided—except your own scraps, leftovers, or artifacts of practice!
Places are strictly limited to 15 participants, and booking is essential for this workshop.
Please note that the Moores Building Art Space is lit with a combination of natural and artificial light. The gallery has wood and painted brick flooring that is dark in colour. If you have any access requirements, please email our friendly Reception team artscentre@fremantle.wa.gov.au
