About the class

A brand new after school art course with our beloved tutor, Finn Anderson, for Year 5 to 8 students who have had a go on the wheel and are looking to explore and progress their pottery skills.

Join Finn for six weeks to learn in depth pottery wheel skills and develop your throwing from week to week, throwing the pottery wheel classics; cups, bowls and plates. Develop your throwing, trimming, decoration and glazing skills, and create pottery that you can use at home. 

Information for Parents:

• Please sign the class list in the studio when you drop off and pick up your child. Children will not be permitted to leave the studio at the end of class without a parent/guardian
• Your child should wear an art shirt, old clothes or bring an apron/art smock as our ceramics courses can get particularly messy!
• Please send your child with a sunhat and sunscreen as we may take them outside for breaks. All breaks are supervised by the tutor or a member of FAC's Creative Learning team
• Please ensure your child has water and a snack if required / desired
• All tutors and FAC Kids’ Classes staff hold valid Working with Children Checks
• Parents/guardians will be notified when animation or ceramics works are ready (this can take up to 4 weeks from the end of the holiday program)
• All materials are included

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
