Create your own homewares and soft furnishings using a combination of textile techniques including stenciling, dyeing, hand printing, and embellishing using Kantha stitch (running stitch) under the masterful guidance of artist, Roberta Leary. In this brand-new course, you will explore dyeing natural fabrics, have the opportunity to master repeat print stenciling, and use a combination of beautiful embroidery threads to finish off your stylish homewares.

Materials:

• A materials fee is included in the cost of the course
• Calico/test material, 1 x 100% linen tea towel, 1 x 100% linen table napkin, and 1 x 100% cotton pillowcase blank will be provided
• All additional fabric/blanks to be supplied by student (not needed for first class)

What to bring:

• Apron
• Sketchbook (A4 or A5)
• Pencil, eraser, sharpener
• Students may be required to purchase their own additional fabric/blanks, this will be discussed in the first class
• Closed footwear and appropriate clothing to be worn
