Expressive Life Drawing Skills – 25 November with Ben Crappsley

About the class

This course offers a fresh and expressive approach to life drawing. Working with a nude figure model, you'll explore dynamic mark-making using charcoal, chalks and graphite on paper, while building confidence in tone, line control, and composition. You'll learn to see the figure through shape, movement, and spatial relationships, helping you develop a more personal and creative drawing style. Ideal for those wanting to deepen their life drawing practice and explore new techniques in a supportive environment.

Now running on Tuesday evenings, this series is available as individual sessions—perfect if you have a changing schedule, work FIFO, or just want a relaxed night of creativity without a long-term commitment. Come when it suits you, organise a group of friends and make a night of it, or if you'd prefer the full experience, simply add all six sessions to your cart and spend the term exploring with Ben.

Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty!

Materials including cartridge paper, charcoal and graphite blocks, plus basic drawing supplies are included in the cost. Any additional materials can be brought along as desired!

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.

We acknowledge these limitations and are committed to improving accessibility where possible. We continue to explore ways to make our programs more inclusive and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.
