About the class

An inspiring 8-week course designed for both beginners and those looking to expand their jewellery-making skills. Under the guidance of contemporary jeweller Alida Cappelletta, you'll explore a range of techniques—from using the rolling mill to create unique textures, to making hinges and movable elements for dynamic, wearable designs.

You'll be introduced to key techniques such as bezel setting, forming domed shapes, creating neck pieces, and setting pearls. These methods will be demonstrated with a focus on design-led thinking, allowing you to explore and refine your personal style while developing your technical understanding.

Whether you're just starting out or ready to take your work to the next level, this course will give you the skills and confidence to craft distinctive, contemporary jewellery.

What to bring

• Most of the materials are included in the course fee.
• We will guide you on any additional supplies you may need to purchase as the course progresses.
• Should you need, Bezel Ring Kits are available to purchase for $20 through reception at the Fremantle Arts Centre. These will be available throughout the term.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
