About the class

Explore the landscape and beyond in this dynamic painting course with Joss Gregson. Working primarily with acrylics, you’ll experiment with a range of genres and approaches-from Realism to Abstraction-designed to stretch your creativity and deepen your skills.

With a strong focus on landscape as a starting point, the course will guide you through a variety of painting exercises that build confidence in composition, colour, mark making, and expressive interpretation. Each week offers an opportunity to try new techniques, explore personal ideas, and develop a more individual painting style.

What to bring

• Acrylic paints: Matisse Primary yellow and Red, Cerulean blue, Prussian blue, Burnt Umber, Australian ghost gum, Burnt sienna, Yellow ochre, Titanium white, Arylamide yellow medium. Plus your favourites.
• A Scholastic pack of 5 nylon brushes, including flat, round and filbert, others as you like.
• Palette, water jug, rags
• Canvas

Prerequisites 

Some painting experience, landscape painting experience in acrylics, oils or watercolour but this is an acrylic only class.

Building Accessibility

Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre is a heritage-listed building with access limitations. While there are no lift facilities within the main building, the ceramics studio is wheelchair accessible.
